Consultation on changes to admission arrangements for

West Ewell Primary School from September 2022

CONSULTATION PERIOD
Consultation Start Date: Wednesday 2nd December 2020

Consultation End Date: Wednesday 13th January 2021

PROPOSED CHANGES
West Ewell Primary School is proposing the following changes to the ranked criteria used where the school is over-subscribed. The changes are marked below in red.

  1. Looked after and previously looked after children
  2. Exceptional social/medical need
  3. Siblings
  4. Children of staff
  5. Distance from the child’s home address to school
  6. Children for whom the school is the nearest to their home address 
  7. Any other children

RATIONALE FOR REMOVEING "NEAREST" SCHOOL CRITERION
In light of recent guidance issued by Surrey County Council, we have reviewed the criterion regarding nearest school and propose to remove it and replace it with home to school distance.

ADMISSION SUPPLEMENTARY FORM 2022-2023

NURSERY ADMISSIONS

We have two areas in our Nursery - APPLE Class is for children aged 3-4 years and PEAR Class is for children aged 2-3 years.

APPLE Class Admissions to start in September 2021 (for children born between 1st September 2017 and 31st August 2018)

The closing date for these applications is Friday 15th January 2021. You are welcome to apply after that date, but you will be added to our waiting list. Parents will be notified if they have been allocated a nursery place by the end of March 2021.

PEAR Class Admissions to start in September 2021 (for children born between 1st September 2018 and 31st August 2019)

The closing date for these applications is 30th April 2021. Parents will be notified if they have been allocated a nursery place by the end of May 2021. PEAR Class places are chargeable unless your child qualifies for FEET funding.

Under usual circumstances, we welcome parents and carers who are choosing our school or nursery for their child/ren to come for a visit. However, due to the restrictions and risks associate with COVID-19 we deeply regret that we are not able to offer visits this at the moment.
